Heading onto a party boat this summer? You’re in for an amazing time – flowing drinks, epic beats, and insane views. However, safety always comes first!
If you’re curious about how safe a boat party is and what you can do to protect yourself and the people around you, we’ve got you.
Make unforgettable memories while looking after yourself by following our essential boat party safety tips.
When you’re planning to make the most of your time at a boat party — especially in popular party destinations like Magaluf, Ibiza or Zante – it helps to know what to expect and how to stay safe. Our complete Magaluf Boat Party guide has practical info on what’s included, age policies and what to bring, helping you enjoy the experience while keeping safety front of mind.
Book with the right boat company
Reputable boat parties (like ours!) are run by experienced crews, with licensed captains and safety equipment on board (like life jackets, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits).
We take safety extremely seriously, and take careful consideration into boat capacity, routes, and sailing conditions.
Make sure the company you choose puts your health and safety first!
Familiarise yourself with the rules (and follow them!)
Your crew or captain will run through some safety rules before you set sail, so don’t sleep on them!
Knowing what to do (and what not to do) keeps everyone safe and makes sure the party really goes off.
Protect your skin by topping up the sunscreen
SPF all day every day!
The sun reflects off the sea, so it’s easier to burn on a boat than you might think.
No matter what the weather forecast, you’ll be exposed to the sun all day so apply sunscreen before boarding and top it up regularly, especially if you’ve enjoyed one of our scheduled swim stops.
Stay hydrated
It’s hot, you’re dancing, the drinks are going down nicely – but don’t forget to hit the hydration station!
Keep a bottle of water close by and sip it regularly to stay feeling fresh – because headaches and heat exhaustion are not a vibe.
Drink responsibly
Pace yourself! While we do have onboard bars and some of our parties even offer free shots or all inclusive food and drink experiences, boat parties last for several hours and you don’t want to peak too soon.
If you are drinking, take it easy, alternate alcoholic drinks with water and soft drinks. This way, you can wake up hangover and regret-free (without puking overboard), as well as avoiding any drunken trips and falls on-deck.
Every destination has its own vibe, but the basics are the same. Whether you’re heading to the Benidorm Boat Party or cruising Greek waters on the Zante Boat Party, make sure you stay hydrated, wear appropriate footwear, and designate a buddy system so you can look out for each other throughout the day.
Look after your friends
Yacht parties can be an amazing bonding experience for you and your crew if you’re on a group holiday or a hen or stag do. So as well as having fun together, take care of each other too.
Make sure everyone is safe, happy, and accounted for!
Dress appropriately
Get your best beachwear and cover-ups on and leave the heels at the hotel!
Go for Crocs, sliders, or sandals to avoid slipping or twisting an ankle as you hit the floating dance floor.

Stick to the scheduled swim stop
Most of the boat parties we run in summer holiday hotspots feature a scheduled swim stop so you can cool down in those irresistible crystal waters.
Please only jump in at the scheduled time and location for your own safety – we plan it this way for maximum fun and to protect you on the water.
Hopefully, these boat safety guidelines help you book your boat trip with confidence and start the countdown!
Staying safe on a boat party isn’t rocket science, but it’s useful to remember the essentials so you can protect yourself and those around you while having an absolutely unreal day out.
Most of the safety stuff is taken care of by our team, but it’s wise to be aware of the rules and know how to keep yourself on top form!
Run through this boat party safety checklist before you go for your ultimate safety and enjoyment.
